Coldplay - Paradise

“Para-, para-, paradise”... come on, you can’t tell us you’re not already singing-along to this karaoke bop! Chris Martin originally wrote ‘Paradise’ in response to being approached by the producers of The X Factor to write a winner’s song for the show’s seventh series in 2010. Drummer Will Champion insisted that the song be included on their fifth studio album,

Mylo Xyloto

– and it’s a good thing they did as it earned them their second number-one single on the UK Singles Chart.

Coldplay - In My Place

A Rush of Blood to the Head

, this Grammy-winning song is the ultimate lovelorn ballad that’s jam-packed with emotionally charged, vulnerable lyrics that are sure to strike a chord with your audience.

The Chainsmokers, Coldplay - Something Just Like This

When it comes to picking a karaoke song, we want something just like this! Collaborating with American music duo, The Chainsmokers, ‘Something Just Like This’ saw Coldplay venture from their usual sound into EDM. Going on to become a massive global hit, this catchy song broke YouTube’s record for most single day views of a lyric video, being streamed over 9 million times within the first 24 hours of its release in 2017!

Coldplay - Viva La Vida

Deriving its title from Frida Kahlo’s last painting, ‘Viva La Vida’ is full of rich imagery and symbolism through its lyrics’ historical and Christian references. Following the narrative of a king who has lost his kingdom, this karaoke song explores the complexities of power, the inevitability of change, and the search for meaning and redemption in the face of loss. Pretty light stuff, right? One of the band’s most popular hits, this track’s orchestral strings are instantly recognisable, and it's no surprise that it topped the charts - earning Coldplay their first number-one single in both the US and UK. Altogether now: “Oh-oh-oh, oh-oh, oh”!

Coldplay - Fix You

Tissues out for this next one. Appearing on their third studio album,

X&Y

, Chris Martin wrote this song to comfort his grieving then-wife, actress Gwyneth Paltrow, after the passing of her father. Originally wanting to base the song on a church organ, he used a synthesiser that had been given to Paltrow by her father. With optimistic, poignant and compassionate lyrics, this is an anthemic karaoke ballad that remains a firm favourite.

Coldplay - Adventure Of A Lifetime

From its CGI chimpanzees music video, to its upbeat, funky, rhythmic Guns N' Roses ‘Sweet Child O' Mine’ inspired riff, this karaoke song is more fun than a barrel of monkeys! Infectiously joyful, this danceable track was the lead single of the band’s seventh studio album,

A Head Full of Dreams

, and is always a guaranteed mood booster sing-along. Woo-hoo (Woo-hoo)!

Coldplay - Clocks

Taking home the Grammy for ‘Record of the Year’ in 2004, ‘Clocks’ remains one of the British band’s signature songs, and an iconic 00s hit. Apparently inspired by English rock band Muse, this karaoke track features its distinctive piano riff, and introspective lyrics that express feelings of existential anxiety, urgency and uncertainty.

Coldplay - A Sky Full Of Stars

Co-produced and co-written by Avicii, ‘A Sky Full Of Stars’ appears on the groups’ sixth studio album,

Ghost Stories

, and combines Coldplay’s signature sound with a house-inspired beat. Melding together a danceable rhythm with tender lyrics, this is a transcendent and rousing, upbeat karaoke banger that is sure to make you feel unstoppable.

Coldplay - Yellow

From their 2000 debut album,

Parachutes,

‘Yellow’ made Coldplay a household name, being their breakthrough hit and remaining one of their most popular songs to date, as well as a concert staple. From featuring in tv shows and films, to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s “Songs That Shaped Rock and Roll” list, we couldn’t have our selection of the Top 10 Coldplay Karaoke Songs without this monumental track.

Coldplay - The Scientist

We know you know this next karaoke song, but do you know it backwards? Chris Martin does - as he had to learn how to sing it back to front in order to make it look like he was singing forwards whilst walking backwards in the reverse narrative music video. Structured around a piano ballad, this song about a broken relationship and feelings of remorse is deeply emotional, and quintessentially Coldplay.
